Instead of patching integrations, we centralized model access: routing selects the best model for the task, failover switching prevents downtime, and logs with limits keep costs in check. PII is masked before any data leaves for the cloud. This is the OpenClaw product — a practical implementation of sovereignty: switch providers without rewriting code.
Traffic to models was scattered across the code: different providers, separate keys, no cost control or audit, and a brittle fallback.
