An in-house rank-monitoring system instead of pricey SaaS — the full history kept at the client.
The collection engine crawls positions in real time, in batches, and with error control, while history is stored in FastAPI + PostgreSQL for trend analysis. We added AEO monitoring—citation visibility in model responses alongside classic SEO. This implementation evolved into the Rank Sentinel product, now deployed for additional clients.
Off-the-shelf rank trackers were expensive, closed, and blind to visibility inside model answers (AEO). There was no in-house history to analyse trends from.
